The mac and cheese nuggets are pasta balls that are battered, fried, and served with buffalo ranch dressing. There’s a little bit of everything at this Spring brewery. 308 Market, Tomball, 83 įortress Beerworks Fortress BeerWorks plans to open a craft brewery at 2606 Spring Cypress Road in Spring this fall. The brewery expects to be open Thursday through Sunday at the outset, and will partner with local food trucks. There are also tacos and queso, and appetizers with Asian touches like the togarashi fries and kung pao Brussels sprouts. Items often incorporate Fire Ant’s beers, such as the Fire Ant nachos with Slam Dunk Pilsner beer cheese, or the Fire Ant reuben with pulled corned beef braised in Mosaic Ant Pale Ale. Mayra Cruzįire Ant, a brewery in Tomball, has its own dedicated chef crafting the food menu: Jay Stone, who previously worked at Vallone’s and Jasper’s. stands outside of the brew pub that is expected to open in August after more than two years of construction.

Appetizers include fried pickles and three different types of taters. The food menu is just as special, featuring burgers made with a pork-venison-bacon patty ground in-house and an onion-thyme bun. BuffBrew also serves burgers, sandwiches and salads. Don’t sleep on the smoked birria nachos or masala-fried cauliflower - and the pizzas that are made with the same yeast as the beer. Located in Katy, Battlehops offers stellar beer as well as on-site board games and some food options. The brewery also hosts food trucks on a regular basis. Bakfish’s menu also offers sandwiches made in-house, including a reuben, caprese, bacon grilled cheese, club sandwich and more. Loved it.The Pearland brewery is serious about avocado toast: It offers three different kinds. Overall, there is a friendly, informal, fun vibe, and recommended at any time of day. The house fries with a bacon and cheese topping were excellent, and the portions were enough to satisfy any appetite (see pictures). The menu is great for light bites and sandwiches or more substantial burgers. As always, I had to check out the food too. There are theme evenings, with a surf & turf night, a fish & chips night, and even a geek night - alternatively known as a quiz night or trivia night.

There is a great selection of beers on tap and there is a canning machine on site so you can take your choice away to enjoy at home. The philosophy of the place is quite obvious with the microbrewery clearly on show, and memorabilia on the walls (see pictures). As this venue is run by Australians it seems appropriate that Australia is the theme. What I liked is that kids are welcome, so it is very family friendly - increasingly rare these days. The main bar is quite small and basic, but there is more room outside, with plenty of tables out front, so the place can get pretty busy. I only popped in for a quick drink, and was introduced to the place while staying with family recently. This is a fun, trendy place to visit at any time of day.
